Day Eleven

Question one

One Saturday in 1988, a German lottery draw consisted only of odd numbers.
What were the winning numbers (in ascending order)?

I was a software developer for a while before making the change to Cybersecurity, but my maths is still quite bad.
Thankfully it appears that the lottery numbers for 1988 are archived on this site. You’ll notice though, that every single one of these draws was on Saturday so it seems that we’re on the right track.

The above site also lists the winning numbers in ascending order. I did a quick skim for anything that had numbers all ending in 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, and found this series of numbers from September 24th 1988: 3 21 23 25 27 47. That’s answer one!

Question two

A Polish actor was born on that day, and one can quickly find a photo showing him wearing a race bib.
What is the name of the event he is participating in on the day of the photo?

A quick search shows that a Polish actor born on the 24th of September in 1988 was Szymon Piotr Warszawski. Searching for his name gives us this wikipedia page with a photo that matches the description we’re given.

We can take a closer look and view the image directly. Scrolling down here shows the source was from this flickr page. This is a part of an album (Or photostream?) uploaded. We can find this other image in the same album that clearly shows the rest of the bib. The name of the race, and our answer, is Bieg po Nowe Życie.

Easy peasy!
