Day Fourteen
Question one
Delivering presents to all the children of the world is no easy task but this group looks ready for the challenge! Who needs sleighs and reindeers when they can have airplanes?
Identify the airline, the make and model of the aircraft seen in the picture.
A quick reverse image search led to this German article which provides what looks like an alternative angle from the original image posed in the question:
I’m not 100% confident that the article is our best source. It provides an alternatate angle but, more importantly, does not contain the original image.
It looks about right though. The right amount of seats, right colors, Santa. This is all compelling evidence that we are on the right path so we’ll press on.
The crucial information I can find from the article is that this was an AirBerlin christmas event. As part of the event they served mulled wine on flights, which is enough for me to gladly book a ticket!
Next step was to do a quick search for airberlin Christmas plane. Somewhat generic of a search query but returned was this reddit post. That confirms the this is a Livery for Air Berlin’s 737’s.
We’re almost at the full answer. The format of the answer is Air France Antonov 400-265. I did some more searching and found another airplane blog post. It’s a very web 1.0 looking website about modding X-Plane 12 to add liveries for 737’s… Cool beans.
The important part of this post is that they give the full make and model/model line/I don’t know planes sorry of our answer: Air Berlin Boeing 737-800.
Conclusion
I’m not a plane nerd. I know what a 737 is, and an A380, but I couldn’t tell you anything else about make or models of airplanes. I was disappointed when first entering Air Berlin Boeing 737 and seing that it was incorrect. Massive shout-out to that X-Plane 12 modding blog for giving me the detail I needed!
